Brainstorm for Money Making Ideas

I love this one. It is such a challenge to look for money making ideas for an internet business. So, what, to you, is a great idea for a website. This is one you have to sit down and work out in advance if you are going to make money online.

My observation is that those who are earning lucrative internet income invariably have worked this out. They know exactly what great internet marketing ideas are.

My own definition of a great subject for an online business are:

a) a topic I am passionate about

b) a topic I have some experience or expertise in

c) a popular topic which attracts interest of other web surfers

d) a topic with reasonable but not too much competition

e) a topic I can monetize with money making opportunities

f) a topic whereby I can find enough content to write about

These are my definition of features of a great internet marketing idea for my online home based business. I will explain the reasons later.

For some people, the feature 'a topic I can monetize with money making opportunities' might not matter because for them, the website is after all just a hobby to kill off time. So, how do you define a great idea for an internet business start up? By the amount of money you can potentially make from the online business? Your passion and interest? There are, of course, no right or wrong answers.

Ask yourself what are your goals of setting up a home base internet business in the first place. But I do feel that until you have worked out your money making idea for your internet business start up, you shouldn't read on. Because if you don't have a target, you can't take aim. If you don't have a destination to go, you shouldn't leave your house. Otherwise, you will be wandering for hours aimlessly.

If you don't have an idea, how can you set up a profitable homebased internet business?

So what's the trick to find a great internet marketing idea to start a homebased online business? The trick is to blend your own skills, experience and knowledge with a need in the marketplace.

Ah, I hear you say that you have the skills and knowledge on a particular subject. Perhaps you do. But acting strictly on your own skill or knowledge may produce something that no one wants to buy or is interested in. It would not be a great money making idea.

On the other hand, trying to build a homebased online business on a market niche that you do not have the ability to fill does not work either. You need to have both personal skill or knowledge and market need for your money making idea to work.
