When it comes to internet income strategies, nothing beats diversification and not being overly dependent on any income source. You stand to benefit knowing that your income streams are coming from a few sources.

It's like when I graduated from university and was applying for a job. All my university mates fretted about what company they'd get into, and agonized over the best job application strategy. Some sent out just a few CVs, but worked long hours to make sure they were perfect: Neatly-typewritten, carefully-crafted essays- the whole bit. Other candidates took a different approach. They feverishly sent out applications to 10 or even 15 employers currently recruiting in the job market. With so many CVs to sent, they lacked the time to ensure that every one was polished, but by spreading their bets around they hoped that some human resources officer, somewhere, would give them a chance for an interview.

Look, don't take my word for this. Check it out for yourself. Look at any successful internet entrepreneurs you admire and see if diversity isn't their tool for unlocking greater income and revenue. These successful online home based business usually have several income generating schemes going for them.

A good example of the dangers of putting all your eggs in one basket is when you got penalised by Google for all of your web pages for some unknown reason. It could be till the point that your site could no longer be found anymore for any of the terms for which they are so highly ranked before. It does happen. One minute you could be earning so much from your Google Adsense and seemingly at the peak of your internet business venture. Then, Google dropped the bomb and shattered your financial dreams. Imagine that you have not monetized your site for anything else other than Google Adsense because it never occurred to you that such things could happen. See how putting all your eggs in one basket is a risky strategy.

Diversification is therefore the name of the game- by having more than one internet income stream, whatever happens you will be in a much more secure position than if all your proverbial eggs are in one basket.

How to diversify? There are a couple of ways to monetize your website. You can generate internet income by:

1. Creating a content rich site and sell advertising space i.e. Google Adsense program
2. Becoming an infopreneur selling electronic information i.e. E Books
3. Becoming affiliate partners and receiving affiliate income for selling other people's products
4. Selling a physical product
5. Accepting donations for your site's useful and helpful contents
6. Creating a subscription website and charging members a fee for access to contents of the site
7. Getting paid for running polls and surveys in your website
8. Offering consulting and related services once you have proven yourself to be an expert in your field

When I say 'create' new internet income streams, what I mean is create them in a style that works for your site. There are so many potential monetization opportunities in the market place. One that suits your site does not mean that it will suit another website. Just make sure that you are maximising all your website's monetization potential to bring in earnings.
